Amy Briggs

Amy Briggs leads the strategy and organizational design practice at Windrose Advisors.
She works closely with leaders to bring structure and focus to critical decisions. She helps purpose-driven teams prioritize what matters most and build the systems to make it happen.
Amy has over 25 years of expertise in for-profit and nonprofit K-12 education, and her areas of expertise include strategic planning, equitable and evidence-based instruction, operations, organizational design, and board development.
She is an accomplished senior leader and former strategy consultant who has worked at national organizations, including Student Achievement Partners, Kaplan K-12 and College Prep, The Grow Network/McGraw-Hill, and Bain & Company.
Amy holds an AB from Harvard University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Amy Etten

Managing Partner, Fundraising & Philanthropy
Amy Etten leads the fundraising and philanthropy practice at Windrose Advisors.
She partners with nonprofit leaders to build lasting relationships with donors that are rooted in trust, mutual benefit, and shared purpose. She supports philanthropic leaders in clarifying grantmaking priorities, strengthening processes, and enhancing grantee engagement.
Over her career, Amy has helped organizations secure more than $300 million in philanthropic support. She’s worked with leading national and local organizations, including the Aspen Institute, The Chicago Public Education Fund, and TNTP and has successfully built and led high-performing development teams. Her experience also includes managing a multi-million dollar venture philanthropy grant portfolio and securing major gifts from national foundations, such as Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Gates Foundation, and the Walton Family Foundation.
Amy holds a BS from the University of Michigan and an MPA from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.

Susan K. Sexton

Managing Partner, Public Policy, Insights, & Impact
Susan Sexton leads the public policy, insights, and impact practice at Windrose Advisors.
She partners with leaders, public officials, and philanthropists to analyze the context in which they operate, define common measures of success, and align strategies for long-term impact.
Susan has more than two decades of experience advancing social innovation. She has worked with national nonprofits and international organizations, including TNTP, Learning Point Associates (now the American Institutes for Research), The Kern Family Foundation, and the Moldovan Ministry of Education and Research. Her experience includes designing theories of change, impact indicators, measures, and metrics to inform grantmaking strategies; facilitating state-level systems-change; and conducting in-depth research to transform public policies.
Having served as a leadership coach for the past decade, Susan will soon be credentialed as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC).
Susan holds a BA from Michigan State University and an MPP from The University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy.
